The IMI Negev is the only light machine gun in the game; it does not allow for a secondary weapon to be caried, but reduces the players stamina if currently held in arms. Its damage is low but it fires fast and has a 90 round belt. Its accuracy suffers at longer ranges but it can provide a very good base of fire if used correctly.
Oddly, despite using the same round as the LR300, M4A1, and G36 it has lower damage, this was done to maintain good balance.
Tactics[]
Negev shooter usually utilizes two tactics:
- for close distance, Negev is similar to HK MP5K, but with larger magazine. The shooter should typically hold down the trigger for automatic mode, while circuling around. The damage per second is relatively low and the target will have some time to fire back or may attempt to flee.
- for long distance, Negev is best used by tapping the shoot key. However, in most cases target will have enough time to hide or fire back - this should be taken into account. Firing from hideouts or "bite-and-run" tactics may be advantageous. Automatic mode is very inefficient at long range.
Combined with a silencer, the weapon is well suited for penetration into enemy bases. Large magazine ensures that in worst scenario, shooter will take several targets before dying. Stamina penalty can be migitated by switching to knife or pistol for duration of running.
